Sunrise Story #36

This is the 36th installment of a 100-day challenge to write a new vignette every morning.

It’s much more difficult to play tennis with a bowling ball than it is to bowl with a tennis ball. This ran through Eloise’s head as a bowling ball barreled through her tennis racket. Her opponent hadn’t really served it as much as thrown it at her, and Eloise’s wrist already ached from the force of impact on her racket.

Julian’s games had once again gotten out of hand, but no one told him off and left like Eloise wanted. The allure of the crown kept them rooted—Eloise, too.

She discarded her racket in favor of a swim cap and headed toward the Jello pool.

I didn’t really have a whole post in me today, but I didn’t want to break my promise to myself that I’d post every day, so this’ll have to do. I’ll give it another try tomorrow.
